Bellefontaine is in a central location, near to Mortain and Vire, with lots to do in easy reach. D-Day landing beaches and museums can be found at Arromanches, Caen (Memorial museum particularly good) and the surrounding areas. 

The nearby Parc de Loisors of Bellefontaine - village enchante, is just a 10 minute walk or 2 minutes in the car. Here there are rides, animals and gardens, as well as the park itself to explore. Prices for the entrance to the gardens and fun park start at around 6 euros for an adult.

On the Holiday Park - at peak times there are organised activities, that range from themed evenings to mini olympics for the kids. The park has it's own golf practice facilities, including a practice hole with bunker and chipping are.

Fishing - there is the picturesque Etang du Moulin, which boasts 2 lakes and offers both coarse and trout fishing, surrounded by a pine clad valley just a short drive away.

The golfers among you will appreciate the Golf de Vire -la Dathee, Bagnoles de L'Orne, Granville, Caen and Clecy courses. The English park owner is happy to adivse you and help you arrange tee off times.

Bungee jumping at the Viaduc de Soulevre, near Vire, Pedalos and mini golf at St Fraimbault, 2 local zoos, theme parks including Festyland at Caen and L'Ange Michel Leisure Park at St Martin De Landelles- lots to do here, horse riding, mini golf, bouncy castles and water slides to name a few. There are 4x4 safaris and karting locally, plus horse riding, quad biking, abseiling and cycling.

Nearest large shop: Champion at Mortain - you can get just about everything you need there, including petrol/diesel. There are also small shops selling the essentials in most villages, including Bellefontaine and the next village, St Barthelemy. These and the boulangeries are the best place to buy your bread and patisseries.
